The following is additional information about the 2008 MET.
__________________________________________________________________
The 2008 Minnesota Electronic Theater will take place
Thursday, December 4th from 5PM to 9PM in Downtown Minneapolis
at Trocaderos Nightclub & Restaurant. Admission is free.
For 18 years, The Minnesota Electronic Theater has been the annual
meeting place for the state's computer graphics community. It has
served as the premiere showcase for locally-produced award-winning
animation and a unique venue for computer graphics professionals,
educators, and students to socialize.
The centerpiece of the evening is the MET Show Reel. The Show
Reel is an hour-long presentation of locally produced computer
graphics oriented short videos. They are selected from professional,
student, and independent entries submitted to a jury composed of last
year's award winners. At the end of the evening the 2008 MET
awards will be presented.
This year the MET is being supported as one of the events commemorating
the 10th anniversary of Autodesk's 3December. 3December is an annual
global community event celebrating 3D art and the artists who create it.
Thanks to Autodesk, The Minnesota Maya User Group and 3December for
supporting the MET. Due to this support the MET has been able to
return to Trocaderos in 2008.
