Hi all, does any one know how to find out the Film Back on digital camcorder? The model camera im using at the moment is a Panasonic NV-DA1/EN/ENA. Is there an internet database or something that i can look this sort of stuff? I've looked in the camera's manual and it does.nt mention it all.
Thanks

I assume that every digital camcorder has a Film Back right?

Do you mean to record something from the computer back on to the mini dv? No not all camera's have the DV out feature, my Canon camera doesn't have it but the Sony handy cam does.

no he means the size of the camera back, either ccd or negative, to make things more complicated theres then any crops, (active areas of ccd etc.) its very important to get a correct film back, in order for your lens information to be correct, unfortunetly its something i only understand up to a point, at work we use a list of commenly used backplates set out for pal, 1k, hd. whats moreconfusing is that the numbers may be different but still work i think.. its more the ratio thats important i think, i may well be wrong.
an easy way to work it out is stick the footage through boujou and get it to give you your film back, but not much good unless you have boujou,

when boujou exports a camera into maya, it creates one with a correct film back. not sure if that helps :S
