(Intro) Hey there!

30 May 2006Hey.. I'm MikeWilson, I been doing Graphics and dealing with that sort for about 4 years now, and recently graduated from college with my 3D Animation and Compositing Diploma, right now im teaching at the same place as a TA, and am working on my demo reel and portfolio, though, having emmense difficulties thinking up ideas.
Anywho, i just thought I'd join to give and recieve knowledge, and I like the fact that it is still a small community and not overblown like CGtalk or others. Be seeing ya.
Here is my demo reel, it had to be done in 2 1/2 weeks, so it's not perfectly to my liking, but I got 85 on it, so it can't be all bad..

Thanks Cameron, I really want to improve on my modelling skills. I think I got texturing, lighting, rendering, and Fx Down. -
30 May 2006cam, the pudding has been here for ages... it's turning green and starts smelling bad. Maybe you should do somthing about it.
welcome to simplycg. i whish i could see your reel. but i don't have quicktime on that pc... i will try checking it asap. i am myself starting to do FXs.
btw are you a max or a maya user? (or anythingelse) btw to get ideas for you reel, here is a tip on how i get ideas:
have a cool black friend that tells you shit ideas, when he will tell them to you, you will think of somthing realy cool that doesn't follow his ideas at all (that's how i get most of my ideas... with my friend lee, he is half american half german)
just sit there and listen to classical or really old music (i am not kidding and it works)
take magic mushrooms

30 May 2006Thanks Rich, I'm a Maya Unlimited 7 User, and ya i'm prety much just having trouble with commiting myself to something and sitting down for a day and doing it and finishing it.
