12 Aug 2006Hello, I'm basically a beginner in Maya, I've been playing around with it for a few years, but never really did anything worthwhile in it. I'm trying to render out some clouds for a shot I did the pre-viz for and all the sudden my boss asked me if I'd like to try creating the same shot in Maya, but moving of course. So here I am, I tried the fluids tutorial posted by Todd, and it looks pretty good, but I need more control of the individual clouds and they also need to be slowly moving, pushed by the wind, as clouds do, so here is the previz I created. The composition needs to be pretty similar. I don't need to worry about anything but the clouds for now. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

15 Aug 2006Yes, that's the tutorial I already tried, my renders turned out good, but not as much control as I wanted, I'll try multiple fluid containers though, thanks for the help

21 Aug 2006I think I got my info from the help file in on the unlimited version.
for his sky you have to position your camera in just the right spot to get the effect your right there.
They animate well but you have to move the hole fluid container in one direction to get a nice effect. The fluid system move around nicley inside The container so theres no need to have more then one . IMO
