Hey - i've got all these black wierd looking faces in my geometry - ive tried everyhting with normals, reversing the etc, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what causes this?

Well I'll name a couple things, you can smooth the normals, Shift Right click Normals - Smooth/Harden Normals.
or you might have double edges, in which case the cleanup can filter that out.
Polygons - Cleanup, change find and cleanup to select geometry, and check none manifold geometry.

when you extrude, do you have your polygon settings set to keep new faces together? It almost looks like the faces are doubled up or something weird.

The vertexies in the middle of the matt were just a bit down, as in their 'y' value was lower than the others because it was suppose to show that the matt was walked on a lot so i thought it'll look better to push them down a bit as oppose the the matt being consistent.
So i moved the vertex back up in 'Y' and everything looks fine now, no black squares on the mat at all. But when i push them back down, the black squares come back.
Hmmmmm

have you tried rolling back your drivers like one or two releases? I had to do that because of some funky display issues and now my stuff works fine, though I am using some new nvidia cards.

Hey man - how would you go about rolling back the drivers?

youll have to go to ati's site and get the previous version, uninstall what you have now, restart and install the older ones.

Hey guys, this problem is back;
When ever i put a Bevel on anything, and i mean anything - even just a simple polygon cube the damn black faces are back. What on Earth could be causing it?
It's the same with the extrude button, it all goes to black.
