Id definatly recommend 'The Art of Rigging' by CGToolkit - awsome series of books.

yeah, I second that, it's got way more practical stuff than any other book I have seen. Not to mention they adress problems that you will run into in a production pipeline and help you make your stuff go faster and more efficient.
