01 Jan 2007Hey Mike, happy new year! yeah, Maya live leaves some things to be desired as they quit developing and supporting it after version 4.
you will have to export your video as an image sequence to have it read no matter what you do. And there aren't really any good tutorials out there on it if any at this point. I suppose I should ask if you are trying to get a 3d camera match out of some footage? If so, Live can do this, but be prepared for a fun ride. It's pretty buggy, and hard to wrangle stuff in with.

01 Jan 2007I just used a tripod to shoot some footage, and its not moving, so I don't need to track anything, I just need to know where my actor is and where my model has to be.

01 Jan 2007oh, well you don't need maya live for that. You can just create an image plane in your camera settings and load the image sequence into that. Then you can check the box that says use animated sequence in the image plane attributes. One thing I like to do is to get one still from the sequence that is full res, use that to match up the camera, and then render out a sequence at like a third to half res for loading up as a sequence for viewing. This makes it go a hell of a lot faster and then ram previews don't take as long either.

12 Mar 2007Hey Zach, I've finally got time to start animating this dam thing, and I'm trying to make the sequence work but its not working correctly, the image isn't updating per-frame.
