03 Sep 2007That's odd... I thought Peter Starostin made this rig for Max as an answer to the popular Maya rig.

03 Sep 2007Yea the lowman rig...however, he made the original lowmax rig to compensate for lowman....this is technically v2.0 of the rig...which looks quite different.

03 Sep 2007Yeah the lowman rig is decent, but the max one has full face and is way better. Lowman is cool because you can build his body to look however you want, but he still only has puppet mouth and eyebrows. This one looks a lot better

I just took a quick look, seems pretty cool - but I'm not really a fan of that type of face setup. I had a couple of requests for that kind of thing here at the shop - but I managed to talk them out of it!
Awesome effort though James - hope you can stick around (we need to build up the Maya contingent on these forums!

03 Sep 2007I've always liked the look of the Max rig and thought therefor I should look into making a Maya version of it.
I spoke to Peter Starostin and he thought it was a good idea. I didn't want it to be just a copy of the Max version,
so I put quite some time into what I wanted the rig to do and also how I could improve it.
The result is what the rig is today. There are still some features I would like to add when there is time. But it seems work fine for the meanwhile.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments please mail me.
