i think i screwed something up. i'm trying to create an invisible man effect. i have shot my clean plate and foreground video. i've done my roto work. right now i'm trying to clone the clothing that has been covered up by the actors body. i'm trying to clone the inside part of a glove the actor is wearing.
AE was letting me use the clone tool over the glove over section of footage with a mask. to create the inside part of the glove. i must have hit something or done something because now AE will only let me clone outside the masked area.
however it will let me use the paint tool inside the masked area. and once i paint in the masked area it will let me use the clone tool to clone over top of the painted area.
any ideas? perhaps i should give up the clone idea all together. it is labor intensive to paint the inside of the glove for every frame. perhaps i should use a photo of the inside of the glove and manipulate it to fit the shape for every single frame. thus giving it a more photorealistic look. the end result would be much more stable than a flowing edge that would be created with the painted look.
ramble ramble ramble
here is a photo of the situtation.

yeah man, I don't know if using the clone tool is what you want to do for something like that, I think your photo idea is going to look better anyway.
