hello everyone, i saw that tentacle rigging tutorial, so i decided to make a men with tentacle instead of arms to test it out...
here is the head after about an hour and the lighting took an other hour.... so it roughtly took me two hours since i started it.
i should post more soon

i think i am finished with the head now, just minor tweakings here and there... i'll try doing the body soon

does anybody know how to remove them lines (in font of the ear, in the left eyebrow) its a transucant shader and its redered with scanline
i found out that it had a lot to do with the shadow quality, but i still get them lines, and its annoying me...

oh and here for you global... i started modeling the body, hel will have a sailor beret, a striped shirt, a little barb, a iny short, and of corse, yellow plastic boots, or baby pink, i'll think about it

Hey Rich,
Topology looks top-notch for the most part. The only place I see a problem is directly under the eyes. For some reason your face loops is cut off by 2 tris. Just finish that face loop (converting the tris to quads) and you'll be good

here is a wee update... yay, i am done with the face, i can now start the body...
tyson, i think you got me wrong, i was going on about theses:
as for the eye area, they are quads, so is the whole head (apart from that triangle on the nose... i'll have to fix that)

Hey man, that looks great so far! I am not sure, but those artifacts could be from a bump map, depending on the filtering you are using, that is, if you are using mental ray. Prob something else though. I cant wait to see the rest, keep it comin man!.

Hey man,
Those artifacts you're seeing are from the fake translucency shader. I usually end up having those problems too....and I've yet to come up with a perfect solution to fix them. Usually the problem comes with the fact that your lights are too intense and/or your translucency value is too high.

Great work Richard. I think he looked better without he beard though, imo he looks more like a child.
