Hey guys. I modeled this wine cellar last friday and saturday, and I've been working on the texturing stage. Here's a render of the smoothed ambient occlusion pass, with the low poly wireframe.
Any feedback on the modeling, shot composition, etc would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Looking excellent! I especially like the little details like the grapes on the table, the assymetrical placement of the bottles etc.
Now git 'er textured!

Looks great,
quick question, does everything have a smoothing modifier on it?

looks nice so far man, i like that you have made the quads in the end of the barrel there, that's a huge modelling detail that many miss. Great job so far, can't wait to see it textured and lit!!!

Hey man, looking awesome! I cannot wait to see how this one progresses.
The only thing that i would change, and it is a minor one, is that in the lower right corner there is a brick that looks like a board is propped up on it, but in the occlusion render we can see that it isnt. It is just a weird composition thing called a 'merger' where two items that are unrelated share a border, move either one of them a tich and you will be sitting pretty.
Good stuff man!

Hey guys! Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the lack of updates. Here is a WIP of my daylight set up.
What I am still working on: Bottle textures in the back, god rays from the window, making the bottles in front look dusty, some texture tweaks, etc.
Also don't mind the grainyness on the shadows, that will be fixed with higher render settings.
All feedback is more than welcome!

mostly just make your large textures more diversified.

Loving the texturework so far.
I think some volumetric light with some fine dust particles would look good too.

yeah man, great stuff so far, the textures and lighting can stand to be tweaked a bit still, but it's looking great. I'd comment more on the textures and lighting, but I think Aaron pretty much drew it all.

Ahhh! 2 more hours till its due Joe... cant wait to see the finished piece.

Unfortunatly, Final Gather is taking more than 12 hours to render, so I am using a bounce lighting set up that isn't as neat.
However, I will render final solutions after class and tidy up some more stuff then post 'em here. So hold your horses!

Hey guys! Here is a WIP Final Gather solution render (with an effects and ambient occlusion pass).
I am working on over exposing the window and fixing textures a bit.
I added a slight cooling filter effect too, just to see how it looked.

yeah man, that's looking great! the floor looks a bit blurry still, and it would be cool to have some more color variance in the scene. It doesn't look flat, but it looks a bit monochromatic still. Beautiful work so far. Congrats on the plug!

Veryyy nice!
couple things I gotta say, is the cieling, looks a bit low res, and considering its about 1/4 of the image, it should be more detailed/less blurry.
and the corks on the wine bottles, you should divy up the brightness and color of them, not all corks are the same, they just look like weird dots in the back when they are all the same bright/color.
Overall, great work man!

Thank you all for the great comments and feedback! I will keep refining over and over until it looks right. We've started our break now, so I will be getting prepared for my trip home and setteling in a bit, but I promise another version eventually!
And thanks for the plug! Everyone have a wonderful holiday.
