09 Dec 2006Hi everyone, thxs for the comments! I took them all into consideration
So this is my final day scene image! Yay! I changed up the lighting quite a bit and added some sun rays to help with the light on that side of the room. I changed up the celing to be mossy and to make it like water had possibly leaked in and gave it some damage.
The only thing I dont like and would probably change is the celing, because it looks like its really specular at the moment.
Oh and to answer the question- The white stuff on the walls are the paint. I tried ot make it look like the wall was not painted evenly.

09 Dec 2006I definitely like the second version better.
The lighting effects are very nice...the only thing I'd say is to increase the attenuation (thereby increasing the falloff) of the lamp light. I'm not sure a real lamp would be able to light up the whole wall like that....I think it would cut off a bit sooner
Also...the ceiling texture is looking a bit strange....but very nice otherwise! -

I'd say I prefered the night one better, but you can see so many more details in the day one. -
12 Dec 2006i totally like the night one, i think you really nailed the contrast range, but i agree with Mike, those rays look out of place (unless there's a spaceship outside, in which case make them glow!
)
and the ceiling on the day one still looks off, like, maybe the texture, or bump map, or maybe it's just too dark, not really sure. but great work, these are really coming along! -
