I know about the gap in his head, I'll fix it. The feet are only blocked out right now, no hands yet. I don't know about his tail, I was thinking more of a beaver shape for it, what do you think?

mechis 520 posts11 Dec 2006I think you might have a problem with the legs if you try to animate this. Think of the rodent lifting his leg... the leg (up to the knee) is attached to the body. That's going to limit what you can do without stretching the model too much.

I decided to keep the legs as I'm not really planning on animating him or so, and I couldn't really come up with something else either
I think I'm sort of done modelling, apart from the hands then. I'm not really happy with the feet yet though.

19 Jan 2007Still working on this, but I have exams, so things are slow.
As I really don't have experience with this: what would be the easiest way to texture this? Completely unwrap it and texture in photoshop? Or use a multi sub-object material? Or? I'm really clueless.
I want to go for this kind of look: http://www.bug.no/onecall/onecall_.jpg What would be the easiest way to achieve something like that (light belly, brown body, slight fade in-between) -
01 Feb 2007I started unwrapping it, but I've never unwrapped a character before (only mechanical things) so I'm a feeling a bit iffy with all this. Right now I'm going to get massive seams everywhere, right? How would you guys unwrap this kind of thing?
