PREVIEW of my planned feature-length Flash animation

04 Apr 2007Here are some preview images from my latest, and maybe greatest, project on a Flash movie entitled "Welcome to Butt-World."
Now, before anyone asks, I am serious about this project. I will be working on perfecting a key scene for this film in my Traditional Animation class. The following are images from the opening sequence which is nearing completion.
Bare in mind that these shots were made entirely in Flash with no additional programs or plug-ins. -

Wow that's quite the project you've got ahead of yourself.
My serious advice though is to definitely cut its proposed length down. The chances you have of getting an audience to sit through 1.5 hours of flash animation is incredibly limited...no matter how awesome it may be.
Personally, I'd say max 10-15 minutes man...and even that's pushing it.
It's your call, but that's just my 2cents

04 Apr 2007To be honest, this is kinda my 'leave-your-mark-on-the-world'. You see, I've only got two quarters left in school and based on how things are going, I may not end up in the animation industry, at least not on the 3D side of things considering I'm not much of a generalist.
So, if I don't end up with a career in the field, I want to be remembered for something extravagent as this, rather than just do a redux short of Disney, anime, or certain video games. Granted, this project is not something that studios are interested in seeing and I probably won't be able to use much of it on my demo reel, but this is a project I feel good about and it's what want to do.
And even if I do get into the animation industry, chances are I'll never have a chance to work on or finish a project like this. -

05 Apr 2007Yeah... you've got to be positive about these things. How old are you anyhow? Since you are studying I would guess you're late teens or early 20's... I guess that's around about the time people have an early life crisis. Where some think they can take on the world and others think the world is out to get 'em
Hey I tried out all sorts of things. It was only when I hit 28 that I started to even think about animation. Three years later and things are great - a little time, effort and positivity has paid off! (well maybe just a dash of luck too!) -
