thanks, and yep, thats the ink and paint shader in max.
I rendered it out b&w and multiplied it on top of the color.

nice! very cool style!
the background doesn't seem to fit, though. it looks like time was spent on everything but that, and it has no texture, while everything else in the shot is very richly textured.
Is this going to be a series of animation, cuz that would be cool!
