Here's a little something I've been working on over the past two days. The basic model is finished, though I'll make some ordnance for it this weekend. I have not the faintest clue how I'm even going to begin texturing this thing. Its all in high-res poly, and how I'm going to figure out how to project the top and side textures etc simultaniously is way beyond me
! I'm hoping to make a short animation soon pitting this one with a Mig-23 in a dog fight. It could be fun. But lets see if I can finish this one first

28 Apr 2007that looks great man, you should definitely texture that thing! it's not too hard, check out a couple tutorials. That's a really cool model, you should definitely take it the extra mile!

Will J 215 posts28 Apr 2007Thanks guys, I will definately try. I can texture well enough, but I'm not at all familiar with multiple projections, I'm not sure how I should even build the texture. Maybe I'll put up a post for some help with this, and there are probably some good tuts kicking around.
At least I know that the Mig-23 will be much easier to do! -
28 Apr 2007Definitely don't project the texture! Just do a simple unwrap and compose the texture in photoshop.
Projecting on something like this will inevitably cause a ton of ugly seams. -
Will J 215 posts29 Apr 2007Thats a very good idea actually, I've never done an unwrap, but I'm sure I could get the hang of it fast. Thanks for the advice, I'll definately try it out!
