18 Feb 2008thats so creepy. might i suggest taking a look at some of the behind the scenes stuff in 'Children of Men'? I remember from the siggraph reel they had a very convincing CG newborn baby they made. I believe the vfx company was framestore cfc, could be wrong though.
yours looks great, the only thing that catches my eye is the ear. it seems too developed or too big, i always thought baby-ears were small and cute

18 Feb 2008Wow dude that's looking SOLID!
The only things that jumped out at me were:
-the crease on the backside of the knee...not sure how else to describe it...basically in the 3rd view there, the crease at the joint of his legs is overlapping so much, it almost looks like his legs aren't attached
-the chest is looking a tad odd...i think maybe the nipples should be positioned a teeny bit more towards the center of each breast, and the whole chest should be a little more smoothed out

As for the chest - yeah I think the whole torso area seems a little too... straight edged I guess you could say. Like it needs a little more baby fat around the chest and stomach area.
On the second image, the side view, I'd pull in that area at the base of the spine... again, it's a little too straight and flat before it curves in to the butt area.
I'd also suggest a little more fat around the upper arms and toning down the broadness of the shoulders.
I think the thing that sticks out most is the hands though. A tough one to get right I'd say.

A couple of things, I agree with all the crits that were posted, and thanks for your feedback, I'm def going in to visit the hands and feet, they were the parts that I had been putting off the entire time, and wanted to get them out of the way when I did them, so they suffered a bit I guess. At any rate, I'm looking forward to going in and making some tweaks on it to bring it together and start texturing it here soon. And yeah, the Children of Men baby was the best cg baby I think I've ever seen. I'll def. be referencing that when I get to texturing it.

25 Feb 2008So I had a chance to work a bit more on this so here's some updates. I'm going to tweak and smooth a couple things yet, like the upper arms, but other than that, i'm about to move on to texturing and lighting.

25 Feb 2008the torso looks alot better with the nipples closer together haha, and the belly button looks great too. its butt seems kinda squared off now though.

the only thing that bothers me is I think the proptions of the whole
body looks as if its stretched on the Y Axis, its a bit too tall and skinny, id sqiush
it on the Y and maybe add some fat on the sides of the belly..
other then that it looks great.. good job.
