WIP: Legend of Zelda - Link

TheOnlyAaron 188 posts31 Dec 2005Hey everyone, I've been working on my first character model, and i thought i would start a WIP, to help me along the way.
I have nearly everything modled so far, and have started texturing, I would really appreciate any comments / crits people have.
and here is another shot
The project is to make Link from the Legend of Zelda, and hopefully (skill willing) animate him.

31 Dec 2005Waw!! Excelent stuff! What software you using to do this bad boy? Zelda is the best computer game ever i think (all of them) and im really looking forward to seeing Link's face. Excellent textures and modeling up to now.

iest_rob Thanks, I am doing this all in stock 3DSMax 7.0, with alot of help from my good friend Photoshop. -

The only thing I could suggest is to give a little grit to the outfit; give it a story - make it look used. But that's just my opinion and whether you take it and use it, it's up to you... I don't even know if it would need that

iest_rob - I've just been messing with photoshop for a while, i dont really have any tricks or tips other than just faking your depth/height information on the texture as well as on the bump map, it really helps. I have a drop shadow, and an inner shadow on every layer! it really helps seperate and give depth.
Jakiloblanco - yes, great idea. Ive already started the second version. I figured it would be easier to make a clean, and then dirty it up some later.
Thanks everyone. I've been working on the head and *gasp* the hair
for a bit. But the hair isn't looking as well as i had planned yet, i am having some issues but at least i know another way it wont work

04 Jan 2006The cloth is looking great Aaron! It'll be interesting to see how it holds up in animation...but as a still frame there's nothing wrong I can see
