ps: what is a good reference for talking mouth shapes....also you may have to refreash it, i playe dit a couple times and it was out of synch till then. -
12 Jul 2008Really difficult to critique without the jaw moving for sure, won't be able to tell if the timing is working well or not quite yet. Though on the word "simply" his lips aren't touching for the "MP" so there's no way to make that sound there. Fix that, get the jaw working, then we could give it a more thorough look.
The best reference for mouth shapes is to watch yourself or someone say the line on camera. If you have a video camera, record yourself saying it and analyze the video. There are books and things that give you what a generic phoneme shape SHOULD look like, but they are just a basis to use. You always need to go in and add asymmetry and change things around to match your character. Good luck! -

13 Jul 2008In the curve editor you can display the wave form for the audio you're using. It's a good basis to start adjusting your jaw movement. Remember to have the jaw open 1-2 frames earlier than when you hear the actual sound though, same with all your shapes. We want to see the shape before we hear the sound, even if only by 1/12 of a second. =)
