27 Jul 2008This is looking great gangbanger! You're on your way to a win for sure! The main thing that stuck out to me was:
-The body language is great, but the lip sync is a teeny bit floaty. And what I mean by floating is that the "o"s, "e"s and "ah"s aren't very well defined. For example, in "once you acknowledge that" you could definitely afford to accentuate the narrowing/widening motion of the mouth...right now during "you acknowledge that" it's basically just jaw motion...not much going on with the lips. Little touches like that will make the lip sync a bit more snappy and less "lazy" if you know what I mean....especially since the scene is fairly tense.
Looking forward to seeing the kid in there! -

30 Jul 2008Looking good! Agreed about the lip sync. Though you mentioned you just started it on the Youtube description thingy.
Accentuate the wides and narrows (right now there's basically no wide/narrow changes at all), hold your MPB's for at least 2 frames, asymmetry, asymmetry, asymmetry, and don't forget the asymmetry. -
Gangbanger 8 posts01 Aug 2008Hey everyone I did not know that I got any responses to this until now (thursday night) and the dead line has already passed, lol. So here is what I sent in. It's not done but it's close enough for the compitition I want to polish this for a new Reel I'm slowly making when I have time after work.
Ya I realize that the lipsnyc is still a bit off, I'll fix that up when I polish it up.

01 Aug 2008It came out pretty good! Nice work on the gesturing and the attitude of the guy. The lip sync can definitely use some more polish but it reads quite well as is for what you're going for. Congrats.
