09 Jan 2006okay, this is my second car ive done completely myself, its a 2005 mazda rx8 and its nearly done on the outside, im new to 3ds and would liek any tips u can give me on it

, cars are difficult to model, you are making a great job!! i can suggest the use of blueprints to get it more accurate, other than that great work!!

09 Jan 2006well its reall your third ... anyways some of the curves on the body need to be refined for example the ones on the main frame work waround the windows and doors also a few on the hood itself.

if thats the model you're going for i think you have exagerated a few of the details such as the curvature of the hood. the design of the car sort of varies from fine curved edges to sharp cuts -
09 Jan 2006You have a fair few artifcats in your mesh, and it looks like you don't have much control over the smoothing of your shape.
Your mesh looks unclean, and modelled without consideration to topology or the end result. If you look at the wireframe you will be able to see. Compare it with great renders from people like Onno + Suurland and such and you will see the difference. Cars are made with precision in real life, and they need the same kind of control and care in cg creation.
Also, it would be good to see how it goes with details and such modelled in as well. Such as door handles e.t.c
There is no way into the car without them, the windows are bulging and there is no interior.
The back wheel also goes into the ground. -
10 Jan 2006i put it in this section because its a work in progress, which would explain the lack of many things, thanks for the critiquing, only been using 3ds for 6 months, and ive been having alot of problens tackling the complex body lines of the front of the car, thanks everyone
