14 Feb 2006Ok that's it. you guys convinced me, i'm back to the world of cg
i'll need your help though. as i know myself, i need someone to tell me what to do, and i was wonderring if you guys could tell me something i could do and that is not too hard. once you've told me what to do, i'll work on it and put some kind of pressure on me until it is done...
trough all the experiance i had in my life, i always got better result that way so if you guys don't mind, that would be great. For example it could be things like a toaster, a seat, or anything else as long as it doesn't get too complicated. then i'll do it and improve it with some comments untill i reach Perfection (well not exactly but you know what i mean...)
so if you guys have any idea, i'm here waiting for it!
(basicaly i want peaple to tell me what to do then "force" me to keep up with it untill i finish other wise, i'll run away and not finish it...)

14 Feb 2006Hey man - what i found was a really good exercise was a set of dinning room table and chairs. Is something like this ok? Or were you thinking of starting off really small?

14 Feb 2006I can't tell you what to do, just do what you want...You just have to find your ideas yourself
Just fix a list of things you want to improve, and start something wich will make you work a lot to clear your weakness.
It's the way i work when i don't know what to do
For exemple, if you have troubles at organic modeling, try to do some , as a realistic human face, or a ugly monster, etc... something wich sounds fun and wich will make you work.
I hope you see what i mean.

Gotmilk 228 posts03 Apr 2006well i keep myself motivated by looking object around the world. Lets say i am walking in the city and i see simple object like streetlamp. I then will start to think how would i model this in 3d. Wich materials i would use and so on..
So i pick some object i like and then try to model it. I havent succeeded all the time but still enough to keep me going on 3D.
I have noticed that i am tending to model harder stuff now. In the begginning i modeled always simple things like chair and stuff. But now i like to model cartoon faces or object with little more complicated geometry....
And of course go to others web page and see their fantastic work.
Just think about it. Learning 3D will give you ability to bring ANYTHING you imagine into virtual life.
Thats a great power.
