HEy - yeah i really like the couch, the cushons are really well made!
Looking forward seeing more items in the room - also i agree with Goul, add some nice window material, that would be great.

Yeah I love how the chair has come out. Rest of the scene however is very empty as already mentioned and yeah something has to be done with that window.
What renderer?

Very nicely lit with a very warm feeling to it. The chair is great and I like the design of the rug. But that window and the background really spoils it at the mo :s

I think everything is lit fantastically mate....not sure about the way those pillows are looking (the ruffles look very unnatural) but everything else is looking suberb.
Fill that scene up with some more furniature etc and you'll have a winner!

Hey man - the table is really nice, i think that the heater might be a bit too big - maybe 1/2 the size would be better? Otherwise, looking really good man, i like your wood material.

something wrong with the general scale of th elements...couch too big for the wall...table too big for the rug..windows too big for the roof height...and the side lamp is just too small...
lighting and materials are great though!

great stuff,
as for your background pic, i dont like the earlier one as it appears at the wrong angle, and is too dark, its a matter of camera exposure, your room is lit heavily from the outside, but the room is correctly exposed, this tells me that the exposure is balenced for the inside, therefore your exterior will be over exposed, i did a quick search on image after, this is the best example i could find
http://www.imageafter.com/image.php?ima ... ors001.jpg
look at the superbright windows,
i did have a quick look on imageafter for an actual image that could just be brightened up, but the angle is a difficult one, its sort of downwards slightly, you could always defocus the outside...

Yeah man - this is looking really good! I agree with the heater - much better now. ant- mentioned a good point about the outside pic, i think it works much better now.
The only thing im not shure about is the reflection in the right hand side window - not shure if this would happen on a nice sunny day like you've got here?
Otherwise - excelletn stuff!

Heh - and you said you were going to 'give up' on 3D for a year... This is great, with noticable improvements every post.
I agree with the comment about the reflection in the window (I don't think you would see the rooms interior that clearly) The ackground is much much better, as is the heater.
I really like the painting on the wall too (almost seems a shame to put it behind glass!)

Hey man,
I agree with Tyson. The lighting is fantastic! The only thing that's really throwing my off at the moment is the laptop screen. The image on the screen doesn't seem to fit the environment. Also it seems a little too bright for me. When i view my LCD screen from the side it's definately not bright at all.
Other than that mate im loving it!
Cheers,
~Todd.

as a Cg artist, i tell you it's good. as an architect, i tell you its lousy! ok, in fear of you misunderstanding me im going to put it in lame terms...
your materials and lighting are simply amazing..yet your sense of scale is very immature!
i understand this is your first attempt, and thats the only reason why im tryin to help you. Focus on measurements and units above all... go to your max preferences, choose a unit form youre familiar with (NEVER work with generic units), and get some background knowledge in architectural measurements and standards.
your image could be simply amazing if only you could solve your scale problems!
