now that i am finished with the car i started a new little project
i have modelled and rigged one out the 3 characters and did a anim test with it. its also the first time i use morphs properly

24 May 2006Ha ha - what an awsome character! His mouth blends very well - remeinds me a lot of the mouth the Pixar guys made for Cars. Awsome clip Rich - his voice really suited him.

24 May 2006Yep, VERY well done! Thats the main thing I like about this, its so rare for a voice to match a cg character ( I mean look at final fantasy spirity movie, nice anim and all, but the voices did NOT suit.!!! ) ... Congrats.

Dude! These are awsome!!! Tha animation on these are just spot on, and very loverbale characters. I loved the 1st two rocks that were thrown and missed, they were very funny.
The only crit i have is to do with the big rock - when the shadow falls on the yellow guy, you can see the 'hidden' rock just to the left, and then you can see it coming in, a few frames before squashing the little guy.
Awsome stuff otherwise dude - i smell a front page??

-On the stone one, I'd have the yellow one move more hysterical sort of, laughing harder. For me his body doesn't move as hard as the sounds suggest he would. Also, at the last "Ha" his body sort of stopped laughing already. But you mentioned that yourself really
-On the lamp one. I think it's awesome when he talks that the light shines through his mouth. Anyway, when the lamp goes up there's this kind of dip in his arc, making it look a bit jerky imo.

27 May 2006wow, you are really cranking out the animations! is it possible to NOT love these characters?! I do agree with Jake that at one point, the yellow guy doesn't seem to be laughing as hard as the sound he's making.
I'd love to see these guys in a street scene, where everything on the street is alive with their own personalities - mailboxes, shrubs, those free newspaper boxes, trees, your lightpost guy, etc...

Nice one Richard... Particularly like the anim test and the 'size' anim. Could do with some tweaks to both, mainly on the poses of the red hydrant character, but very nicely done and some good details in the animation (The way you emphasize the dialogue with a head movement, when it hits a strong vowel sound, is spot on!)
Right about the stone anim though... it literally does need more impact. I'd be tempted to remove the incoming shadow on that one so it's more of a surprise. Either that or have the yellow guy look up, get scared and try to move (but realizing he's riveted to the floor! hehe)

15 Jun 2006thx global, i was manly concentrating on the speatches... i know the one with both hydrant is not that good. i nedd to find a good rig other than lowmax to animate... i would create one on my own but i am not good enough yet... later on in life i think i will either focus on animation or FXs, because i like both of them. i don't think i wnat to get back and refine these, because i don't have time and i'd rather move on to somthing new.
