Promotional Challenge VOTING

Ok folks, time to bring this challenge to a close.

I've got to say that this definately has to be one of the best challenges we've had so far. So many entries, and so much wonderful work produced.
Well done to all who entered!

We'll go about the voting same as the previous challenges.

1. David Holy (very good Modelling, best WIP Thread and great finish, allthough i miss some Typo for the promotional touch)

4. Cameron (your the winner of the hearts, cause it never ever was a foul, which caused the penaltyshot seconds before end...i'm sure the socceroos would have reached the quarterfinals if they'd made it to the overtime)

Hey - excellent turn out to this one! Well done to everyone who entered.

1. Quinn - Thought this was awsome, and definatly the most realistic, can't see a falut in it, plus i like the whole magazine layout vibe from the add, well done mate!

2. Ar Lutik - The render was quite nice, with very nice materials, just wished you could have advertised it better.

3. Caemeron - Great work mate, the materials and model on this one is awsome too.

Great challenge, forwarding to the next!

That was a really hard decision for me to make. So I want to explain in each detail, WHY I voted this way.

I cant vote Ar Luktik and Quinn, the made a false, the rules are to write it this way: Promotional: Name, but the did Promotional - name. So you are both out. Sorry for that.



Muahahhahahahah. No. CAm and I did it wrong. Cam wrotes - but used :

1, Ar Luktik

Really impressive Render, great flies and detail. Your competitor on this stage was Quinn. But the hell you beat him, despite the ultimate power of the rolex.

2, Quinn

I love it really. There is only point i have, you should have used a little lighting override to show its magnificency. But I definetly give you the second place

And now to the last. There are only members two I may vote: Ali and Cameron. So I decided to vote Camali for its shaving clock! No... Give me some more time. I will analyse it to the last parts. (Bribes are welcomed... ehehe

3, And the winner is ...C A M E R O N....

His render is in some sense cleaner. In the close shots you show some bad textures. The cloth texture on the ground should look like silk.. But as I said a damn good entry. I like your modeling much more and object, but cam good the better endresult.


Behind the third places: Guys you gave me the creep posting such nice work. Iest ROb for example: WOW, you were really a person looking for a high result, but the lighting, the materials and also the missing package made me feel a little bit disappointed. There was so much potietal in it.

The Bender made me lough. Really. Came out really well, but it is something missing. You should made him hanging on a bottle of beer, that would be also awardwinning

Onno: Not much to say: Exquisite Materials.

Flash Master Fong: After I saw your late entry: Mate, I thought if some more of this works showing up, we have to extend prizes: Here are also minor problems for voting you: At least its the bad use of HDRI Maps. And I dont liked the ground.

Animare: Puh that was definetly the fastest shot I cant say really much about. sorry.

PRO: modeling/materials/render quality and postwork. the lil ambience glow fits the square/FF theme somehow. bonus: a face on a cover is ALWAYS working in promotional works.
CON: the presentation feels lonely.. but at least its not the same fake magazine ad like some others did...

ok after looking for 30 minutes and changing the list for 4 times this is the final list

Ar Lutik : cool idea cool render cool flys
David Holy : good wip and good render but someone said it already you need more typography
Quinn: cool render very realistic but its to stiff it should be more loose

ok i want to write for al people but have not much time left so i make some edit later

1 - Art Lutik - this render is magazine-ready!
2 - Ali - clean, simple modelling for a really nice model. and i like the texture on the faceplate.
3 - Quinn - more clean and simple modelling, and looks the most like a real advertisment.

David Holy and Cam just about made my list! but everyone did great work (excluding me, who couldn't even find time to model a silly Scope bottle!)!

unfortunately, no one did cowbells.

1. Cam - The detail is awsome, every little inch you took into consideration, should say millimetre actually.

2. David Holy - Man it looks like u just snapped a photo of the real thing awsome work!

3. Art - Kickass, Where can I buy some!

Well done all, this has been a very popular contest. Great entries all round!

Sadly we have to choose (I'd give you all a lollipop if I could) so here are my top 3

!) ar Lutik (aka Art Lutik, ArcLik, ArbleKlick) - Great render, but more than that... love the humour behind it... attracts women like flies to merde hehe

2) Quin - A simple idea, but done very well, definately would not look out of place in a magazine.

3) Everybody else - Oooh so hard to choose... they are all good for many different reasons. *pulls random name from hat*... And it's... David Holy. Very nicely rendered (I'd like to have seen more detail of the product itself, rather than the packaging... but it looks very good)

High quality entries for this comp - would like to have done something but gave up texturing and lighting quite a while back lol... maybe next time

In no particular order:
David Holy - Nice overall look and feel to your render.
Ar - Great materials and lighting, not too fond of the concept though.
Cameron - Good model, nice overall image.

Fun to see to many different entries guys, many different interpretations of the subject.

1) Quinn.....I think he progressed the farthest in this challenge

2) ar Lutik....great looking render! Great modelling on those flies too....but the floor caustics are quite off because there's no occlusion under the glass

3) Ali....once again, great progress made in this entry! Love the details on the clock but not sure about the purple backdrop
