Hey man,
Sorry I'm so late in responding....I haven't had much free time lately but now I've finally got a chance to drop in
Anywho....it's looking great! Love the little spark trail, and the coiling/twisting of the fuse is spot on.
The only thing that's catching my eye at the moment (and it's totally a minute thing) is that the little flame isn't casting any shadows. Since the flame is above the fuse, certainly directly below the fuse there'd be no shadows....but around it there's be all kinds of flickery, sharp, dark shadows being cast. Other than that it's looking great!
As for your noise question.....hehe...I had that same problem with my flame for the lip sync test I just posted the other day. Basically, if I understand your problem, you want something like this: a light with an intensity higher than zero (like 5), that flickers by a certain fact....but stays in the range of the inital value by that current factor as well...in other words, if you were to put a noise of .25 on that light, it would range in values from 4.75 to 5.25...but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that using the defualt noise controller, correct?
Well the solution I had was to create 2 lights. One has the inital value (let's say 5), and the other one flickers more or less by a certain factor to compensate (so you'd give the other one a noise float with a noise intensity of .25 above or below zero). That should do exactly what you want (and it worked in my scene too)
Hope that helps!
