hey guys i was tossing around ideas about this challenge do you think if i took the challenge literaly "earth" and hit the earth with a meteor it would fit the guidlines of this or are we talking more strikly earth element and what not?

i think you can take it however you want to.
thats the cool thing about these, is the creativity of everyone participating. Somehow everyone seemed to think the "Air" challenge was a "wind" challenge. but wind is just the most visible and obvious representation we have of air. Be creative, go with it!
mine's going to involve earth, but more the "dirt" variety.

Alright cool sounds good to me. in that case its coming along fairly well...
well actualy im working on two difrent ones right now ill have to post them up and see which one you guys like the best.

Ok here are some roughs of my two ideas let me know what you guys think.
one is earth getting blown up
and the other is a dragon ball z kinda spoof (guy getting hit into a mountain and the mountian comes down on him

sheesh! i like both, but honestly, we've seen planets blow up a bunch of times, so i vote for the second. unless you can do something new with the planet exploding?

Alright then I've made up my mind the second one it is. mainly because it wil be much harder. i've been watching T's statue explotion animation and thats close to the effect im gonna go for... now i just got to figure out how he did the crumbling of the statue and ill be set . haha
as for the planet explosion i did it anyway for fun nothing much but it was fun and i learned from it so everything is savy

if want hard why not try the first one get an astoid to hit the sea then a big giant wave wipe off a city and the statue of liberity then part of the earth start craking and volcanos errapt ARMAGEDON basicly that is sure hard but trust me that will be for all the challange sections i am sure u gonna be a winner if that is done

well i got some bad news guys although my entry is coming along i dont know if it will be done in time. I started a 3 week construction job for some extra cashflow this week and its .... well basicly i wake up drive work drive eat and sleep so hopefuly ill beable to work on it some more but the whole thing is giving me some problems so well see.

well guys its done kinda disapointed with it but oh well I tried this job thing caught me off guard but unfortunatly my website buddy doesnt have time to post this on my page right now so i put it up on youtube for now to show that i finished it but ill get a better quality one up tomarow some time

WAIT.back up ...........I love this stuff. The first pic has the sky alot lighter at the bottom . That looks way better IMO.....nice work dude.

i liked it! that was a great idea, the blobmesh smoke!! no wonder it took forever to render, blobmesh kills!!! but good use of it!
my only two comments would be that sky seems too saturated, and i didn't see the shell come out of the gun. couldn't tell if there was none, or maybe it was just youtube's crappy quality. other than that, i really liked it! great style choice!
