TheOnlyAaron 188 posts04 Nov 2006Hey Hype, i've been using dominoes on mine as well, and found it wasnt as easy as i had planned either. You really need to have the spacing just right. Because if they are too close or too far, they will just push the dominoes and not nock them over.
Their friction needs to be adjusted really well so that they will continue to slide down after they pile up, i ended up lowering my friction to 1.5 and gave them an elasticity of .8, that really helped them behave better. Also i ended up with a higher weight than i would have expected. Take all of these into account, and things will fall (pun intended) into place.

07 Nov 2006i rendered this out 2 days ago cuz i thought it was pretty funny!
i actually have the dominoes working fine now, and am moving down the line of my machine to the next gadget.
i feel some cheating coming on....

07 Nov 2006make them facture sets, so they dont move at all until something hits them. i did a dominoes thing 2 years ago where it spelled out a company name and it worked beautifully. if i can find it i'll post the video.

09 Nov 2006found it! i made this 2 years ago in like 3 days so its nothing special, but the physics on it worked well. ps: all the dominos were placed individually, i didnty know about other ways at the time.
