Ok...Now that phase 1 is over...phase 2 has begun!
Your "mission" this time around is to texture the character you made in the previous session.
Overall...I'm leaving this extremely open. My only "rule" is that at least one part of your character must be unwrapped and actually textured. The rest of him/her/it may be simply shaded, or textured using defualt UVW co-ordinant maps (ie....sphereical, cylindrical, box or whatever suits the object/part).
Your goal is to make your character look pretty! If you want to unwrap the whole character and paint all your maps by hand, or if you want to use normal maps, or pratice game-style texture mapping (ie...working within a limited map space of like 512x512) etc etc, that's up to you.
The voting will be based on whose character looks the coolest! (as usual

)...so the idea is to have fun with it.
Also note.....if you became a member of simplycg after the last contest closed but would like to enter still, that's fine. You may still enter and participate in the voting session for the texturing phase (with your character model only though....no cars, buildings etc).....the only downside is that you will not be eligible for the "grand prize" (a fully licenced DivX bundle) which will be given to the person who wins "best overall entry" in all catagories (ie...modelling, texturing, animating etc etc).
Anyways....deadline for your textured character is Oct 17....until then, get painting/shading!
Oh....and start a new thread for your character in the style of:
PC - Texturing: Your name
...and in your first post make sure to display an image of the model you're going to be texturing!
