Animation Session Prep

Well....it's December 1st so the animation challenge is going to be starting real soon!
That being said...I know a lot of people have plans for the holidays (I'll be away from max for 2 weeks myself since I'm going home) so the animation session will be stretched out until the end of January so that everyone has enough time to put together a great entry.
Anyways....before starting the official "rules/guidelines" thread....I thought I'd first spend a couple of days getting suggestions from you's all so that everyone's happy with how this final culmination of the progressive challenge goes.
So....how would you like to see the animation challenge set up? Pretty much anything goes when it comes to suggestions....so gimme all your thoughts!
Here are some things to get your ideas flowing:
-challenge based around sound file that everyone has to use (lip sync or sound effect)
-challenge based around some kind of action (lifting, jumping etc)
-challenge based around some kinda story/emotion (getting dumped, winning the lottery etc)
-challenge based around some kind of genre (horror, mystery, comedy, a mixture of more than 1 theme etc)
-challenge based around some kind of theme (love, hate, betrayel etc)
Try not to make your suggestion too specific (ie..."an army of angry dinosaurs attacking the character while he's lifting a box full stuff he hates")....but not too loose (ie...."a character doing something funny!")

02 Dec 2005I'd be thinking for something along the lines of being hit by a car, or a schitzophrenic fighting match (ie, fighting either characters self, or a clone). or something similar.
Although something easier would be cool. Hopefully with the holidays away from work I might have a chance to put something together for this. -
02 Dec 2005How about catwalk? The models would have to impersonate models and walk along a path, swiveling their hips and all.

I don't know but I'm out anyhow. I have exams during january & will spend the better part of december studying.
Imo a cool thing would be "parody" where you make a parody on an existing commercial/movie scene/short movie/... -

hehe...actually I wouldn't mind seeing the parody thing. Similar to a regular lip sync, only you have to base your animation on the movie's situation as well. Could definitely be something funny...especially if the clip is taken from a serious section of a movie -

05 Dec 2005would it not be more fair if some1 not in the challenge picked the clip ? for fairness sake? some1 who just sorta hangs around the forum like a bad smell? a n00b or somat.. perhaps some 1 who dropped out of the challenge.... hmmm .. wait sounds familier

I'll take suggestions though if you have a good clip in mind. -

07 Dec 2005Sorry I'm not comming up with helpful suggestions... I wish I had ideas, which is why I need these challenges to "tell" me what to do
Maybe something like getting caught in the middle of doing something they aren't supposed to... like pushing the button that says do not push or something...would give way to lots of emotive fakes and changes..
Or trying to physically reach something that is just out of reach; during which something might be distracting him...
I like the idea of having a story behind whatever is happening... so... anything related to that would be nice... -

One of the prizes will be a full licensed version of DivX (they were doing a free giveaway on the website for 1 day only a while back...and I got a copy but don't need it so I'm donating it)
I'm also considering donating a couple of animation books I have as prizes since I don't need them any more. -
09 Dec 2005By the way....whether or not I donate the books as prizes does depend on how many people enter.
I think if we can get around 8-10 people who put together an entry, I'll put the money into shipping off the books to the winners -
