ha haaaaaaaaa, i look ten on that video , must be my haircut, i definatly need to cut them.... anyway here is the idea... dont worry it's going to move around a lot more, i just can on the vid caus i did it on my own therefor, i cant move the cam while "acting" for the teapot pics, its bits where its gonna mouve around a lot so don't worry i am not going to leave that here...
how do you like it?

Hey man,
I like the idea that you're using a video reference since they're great
Some clarification would be good though....what's the sock/hat-thing? And/or, how do the teapots fit in?
Overall...what are you going for? It'll be easier to understand the vid clip once we know what the idea is going to be behind your animation

Richard 1,943 posts
allright, allright....
sok hat thing is going to be one of them theater masks, (the smily one and the sad one... i'll go fo the sad one)
the teapot has nothing to do with the movie... its just here caus i dont know how to move a video to a further point in the timeline thingymy
last, its gonna be in a white environment, with a little robot (a bit like yours ) saying all this... like in an advert or somthing... and as i said there will be loads of diffferant camera views... no to much though, but you know what i mean... and at last, when i fake to hold the camera, its because i don't have to , but its gonna be a very old looking and cartoonish camera...
in the vid everything will be cartoonish, and btw durring and right after the first teapot thing shows up, there is gonna be a hudge play button blinking next to him ... clear enought? lol
here is a scetch of the robot

u mean u dont know how to extend the number of frames in a movie ?
-
Richard 1,943 posts
i do but in windows movie maker

Ok cool man

Makes much more sense now
One thing I'd suggest too is not going overboard with the hand/body language.
If you watch people talk in real life, for the most part hand language is kept to a minimum and only used when necessary...maybe on the highest intonations in a sentence or on the most significant point. The hand language in your vid ref was a bit over the top so I'd suggest toning it down a bit
Other than that...keep at it!
Oh...and you asked about how I rigged my robot? I just used bones and a regular IK setup for the arms and legs.

Richard 1,943 posts
how did you do the wiglling areal and the hand open close and the eye lids? did you use sliders?
-
ivanisavich 4,196 posts
No that's all just keyframed bones/objects.
I could have rigged it with sliders of course, but I didn't have time
-
Richard 1,943 posts
okay, thx , i'l use sliders i think because i dont know how to use them therefor, i'll learn somthing new... anyway here is a little more advaced scetch from the robot... lr main body "ball" will be smaller

i like it

! ... its pretty cool im sure the transition form story board to 3d will compliment it. however i think you should work on some more dynamic poses and movement he seems a little static ... he just stand in one place and points. i know you want to keep it simple for your first animation but i think he could use a bit more motion.

loll thx, he is going to walk arounf a lot. but i coult be asked to draw him walking around... glad you like it...

i think you should make the feet a bit bigger ...its seems a bit unbalanced at the moment.
-
Richard 1,943 posts
when you say bigger, do you mean wider, longer, higher ?
apart from that is the model ok?
-
Richard 1,943 posts
i just found out for the Swivel thing but how can i get it to move just the leg, because for the moment, it also moves the feet with it... and do you guys know where i should use an ik chan (apart from the arm and leg, is it usefull to have one for the feet and for the hands?)
-
