Animation Challenge!: Movie Parody VOTING (Closed)

11 Feb 2006It's time to vote on the previous Animation Challenge.
First up, I just want to extend a big thank you to all who entered!
You have done an incredible job and produced some outstanding work.
I think this is going to be a tight finish.
The voting procedure is pretty straight forward. Just post your favourite 3 entrants and a little comment for each into this topic in the following format.

quinn paynter 356 posts11 Feb 2006(#1) Iestyn Roberts Thought was pretty cool, poking fun at old computers. I think main thing I suggest to fix is the swinging cameras. But I thought it should win as its the only one I found that stuck to the Funny movie parody Compitition Idea.
(#2) Gregory Ng This one had a pretty cool setup, and I liked the feel of it all, but yeah not sure.... The who parody thing. Though you used the sound clip well ^^
(#3) Jacques Daigle Agian, Im might be abit slow on the Parody jokes but seemed like thats what there missing. But maybe its my extremely slow and tired brain tonight ^^
Good job to all though, you all did a great !! . I wish I could'a submitted something too

12 Feb 2006(#1) Iestyn Roberts Definately the most entertaining. Movements were a bit stiff and lip-syncing a little out of sync but this piece most resembled the Parody idea... and it made me laugh
(#2)Jacques Daigle Didn't link up the parody side of the task to this one but the animation was absolutely spectacular. Well done! It was also good to see your progression throughout this entire challenge (from modelling to animation).
(#3)Lee Croudy The best lip-syncing and setup I could see. Just a pitty you didn't get to convey your punch line or render the puppy out. Lovely work. -
12 Feb 2006(#1) Gregory Ng - Because its just so darn cool jk. i think that you made good use of camera movement and body language . didnt care much for the ending though.
(#2) Jacques Daigle - Your animation is really picking up i scrubbed through your video and even though the camera movement didnt quite work the way you wanted it the movement of the character was up to standards.
(#3) Iestyn Roberts - A very creative take on the subject . the only thing you were lacking was proper camera movement. -

I wasn't expecting to be entered into this! lol. Thanks for the comments anyhoo - I'll try a little harder next time
Here's my votes
(#1) Jacques - simply because the animation was very good indeed, very lively and energetic motions that were pretty much textbook perfect
(#2) Iestyn - Though the animation was a little stiff, it gets my vote for the amount of character it has as a whole.
(#3) Gregory - Very nice camera motion, and framed quite well (I really like the reflection we see). Though i felt the character's motion was a little 'floaty'.
Oh, and if I could vote for myself it would be at number #4 hehe -

15 Feb 2006I definitely vote for Jacques for first place. it was definitely the best animation.
second place: global. I liked the feel of it. The lip sync looked good, i wish it had been finished it totally woulda won
third place: Iestyn because it was the most parodied idea
