10 Jul 2005Ok guys here's my entry,
Current render time is about 44 seconds. I've really had to compromise with the volumetrics but i haven't spent alot of time working on them for the shot. Without the haze, clouds the render times about 9 seconds.
Still needs HEAPS of work.

Would be good to see rocks and such coming through the snow.
And also, imo the formation seems a bit too circular and uniform.
Keep at it mate, It's good to see we all have different takes on this theme! -

My only problem is that the composition is a little too uniform overall....to the point where it's difficult to make out what it actually is (if the clouds weren't there I'd probably not realize that it's a mountainrange). Could just be your camera angle though. -

I agree with you 100% guys, i also think the fact it actually has no textures on the mountains at the moment would make up a large part of the problem. Will show an update in a day or so when i get time to work on it again.

As you say the mountains have no textures at the mo, so no reel comment there - at the moment they look like mountains of zync, very sparkly There is some nice chaos to the mountain geometry, though as Tyson says it's a little too uniform - kinda ordered chaos hehe -
