21 Feb 2006I have a cunning plan!... I'll post now to say that I'm in... and then Wednesday I'll fail to post anything! That way everyone will be anticipating my entry and that's great because it's all about anticipation right?! Yay! I'll win by default!
*Global rubs his hands gleefully, plotting all manner of evil dastardly schemes* -

Worry not - I'm sure I'll have something for this. But until then here is a link to a very early anim I did (which some of you have already seen I'm sure) It uses anticipation (and a lack of it) for comedic effect.

[Jakilo and Quinn] Yeah I did this a couple of years ago now, and no... this isn't my entry (I didn't think my meanings were hidden or needed to be read closely hehe) I figured I'd post it because this is kind of a workshop competition (a learning thing for us all) and as anticipation is a key thing for the blob animations I thought it was worth sharing
Anyhoo I'll work on my entry tonight and hopefully post soon -

Yeah, I mean really done! This took a lot longer than I thought! (mainly because drawing circles freehand is not very easy at all)
Anyhoo it was quite fun to do... again it's a gif anim, (so playing it at the correct speed may be a little hit an miss) EDIT: - Seems to play ok in my browser, just give it a chance to load in all the frames and it'll then start playing at the right speed
Crits welcome - I may tweak the tail if I get a chance tonight. -
22 Feb 2006Fantastic idea mate! Didn't even think about doing it in 2d
I love it for the most part.......I'm just not sure about the tail in the first few frames. Can't really tell what's wrong with it since I can't exactly frame-by-frame though the animation....but there's something odd about the tail's movement at first.
That being said, the jump and follow through looks great! -
