Alright Ladies & Gents, it's time for the next challenge.
I thought i'd take things a fair way away from the previous challenges that have been mainly focused towards animation and VFX.
This time, I thought it would be a good idea to have a go at something that could be equally, if not more important in a portfolio than character animation or effects, even if they are the positions you are looking in a job application.
This challenge will involve you doing the following:
1) Modelling a product ( You can choose any product you want, be it a ring, a watch, a shirt, a camera, a bar of soap, a nose hair trimmer, a digital camera, a can of coke, a mars bar, a book, a turtle, a mobile phone, a set of saucepans, a car, a helicopter, a tank, a monkey, an island e.t.c, anything really )
2) Texturing your product ( Go for realism here )
3) Lighting + Rendering your product ( This is probably the major step, the idea of this challenge is to produce a piece of work that you could submit to a company for their promotional campaigns, be it television, website advertising, ebay, store placement e.t.c.
Pretend that said company has just contracted you to create a 3d representation of their product to be used in such advertising media. )
