10 Jun 2006It's the latest in soccer-ball / football-ball technology. This is what they're using at the world cup this time round.
Apparently they were sick of the roundedness, so they went for something a bit more abstract. It makes for an interesting game. -

Has anyone noticed that you can't save to jpeg from max without losing quality? It's crap as, you have to pass it through photoshop to get any quality into it.

And yeah, JPG compression in max is horrible :/ I usually save every still as bmp or something and then sharpen/convert it in PS. -

25 Jun 2006Come on, you shoudl work on it a little bit more. Just some more chromic reflections on the blade and it should perfect The DRI Reflections are very good. I love the red part but the grey part at the blades seems like its a basic material Btw nice modeling

No HDRI reflections in this.
The grey part is like that in real life, and the blades are chromey metal properly, but they only have the grey there to reflect them. I'm happy with it.

26 Jun 2006cam! nice work man, looking really cool. one thing though, i noticed that it is suposed to be a mach 3 power, and those razors have a button on the handle to turn the vibrate on and off.

, thats the power one.. This one I'm making is just the mach 3 turbo, it looks solid metal, whereas the power one looks plasticy (but is actual metal too), I've got both here side by side, and the red turbo does have cripsy reflections
Added a bit of noise to the bendy bits but accidently gave it reflection too Slip of the wrist kind of thing, well looks ok, looks showpony. (actually, I think I forgot to add the material to the bendy bits, only the bendy leader, damn, well I guess thats what happens when you rush things)
Anyhows I think this is final.
