Looks awsome, looking forward to seeing your new model. Would be great if you could post the work you've done so far as well.

Here is the first update, The whole body. It still needs much edit.
I noted that dimensions are true, just beacause you know that different views make dimensions in picture look different.

this looks great so far!
only thing i'm seeing besides what g3org3 said, is the arch over the glass window part, you can see it comes to a point, when it should be a smooth arch.

Update. the body is almost completed. Legs still need work (it is the first attempt on legs).
What's your opinion mates?
Also have a question. What's your idea for detailing the face? Use a displace map in material, or build them in mesh, or a displace modifier? Have you a similar experience?

Do you mean the face of the clock? I don't see why you would need a displace map. OR are you talking about the legs?

I meant the golden frame around the face. Look at bumped details.

Ahh I see what you mean now. I would just probaly use a displacement map.
By the way it is starting to look great!

I think the materials developed really great: You should work now on the lighting. I would be interested in seeing it with this override light effect!

Thanks -Iest, David.
@Iest_rob; Good notice about bump map. Will improve it.
@David; Thanks a lot. I think this computergenerated looking is most related to lighting and rendering. I know Vray, but not very good. I still need help.

No problem

Stil learning it myself, atleast the hdri treatment looks much better than before
But big question you have got this straigt shiny lines on the clock how the hell did you do that? Thats a problem i had earlier with my harddrive
You have to adjust your renderer so this noisy renders dissapear, maybe a little bit more anti alliasing!
-
ALi 608 posts
Thx David. will try anti allising.
And about that straight shiny lines. I made them with using anisotropy and highlight glossiness together. I can explain more on icq when I back home at night. Now it's about time to go to work.

Here is my final.
Thanks all mates for your comments and notes. I tried to do my best. Wish I had more time to work on it. However I'm happy with this.
Also thanks a lot to David for his help.

Thanks Tyson, Cam.
I need to learn more about Vray and some more about environments. However I'm so happy entering the challenges for the first time.
