25 Jun 2006Hi, thanks for taking the time to view this animation. I am currently finishing up my associates in computer animation at Full Sail Real World Education. This animation is for my DEMO. I would love to get some critiques please. I'm new to the art of animation, and i need all the help i can get.

25 Jun 2006Very nicely animated Juan - particularly the part where he raises up on his hind legs and then slips (nicely sense of weight) though I'd watch the head and trunk as he drops from that slip, looks a little too delayed and weightless.
One slight crit would be the general timing. Obviously the action and motion is exaggerated (could even be pushed a bit more in places), but you could add a exaggerate the pause after the slip (before he begins to kick his legs). Basically give it time for the elephant to think "Well... what do I do now?!" -

25 Jun 2006It's a very hearty and adorable an animation, and the elephant looks like it has character. I'm not sure about the frantic leg movements he does in the end though, unless that was intended to show he's no ordinary elephant.

I couldn't do it!
but... since I'm just a spectator, I get to make suggestions!
I think him jumping with just his back legs is kinda wierd, but I probably don't know something about elephants at the circus or something. Not that it's not convincing!
But I would suggest that you exhaggerate the pedistal fall more. Have it totter on the edge in suspense just a bit longer, and then fall faster. I think that would help!
