here's a little something i did yesterday. its a wedding card for friends of my sister...
if you look closely you'll see some mesherrors, but since i only had 2 hours from modelling to final printing i'm pretty satisfied with the output...even though i had to keep all samples down...
kind of romantic, brummagem (if thats the right word) but what the hell, it's a wedding...

any chance we could see a wire frame? maybe even a close up of one of the plug thingys?
and what renderer (please say scanline, please say scanline...)? -
14 Jul 2006That looks pretty good, you did an especially good job on the depth of field, people usually seem to not get that right. My only crit is that the kind of peach colored highlight on the female plug seems a bit blown out. Maybe thats just the way the reflection looks, but it just looks a bit funny to me. That being said, good job on a nice peice!

hype, i'm sorry, but i have to say its vray, i have to say its vray
would't say this isn't possible with scanline, but at least i didn't have the
time to try, cause i'm more familiar with vray...
attached you'll see a closeup and the scene-setup...
the plug is a cylinder-primitiv with some extrusions and the brass-thingy
is a simple box with faces extruded along a spline
the mesherrors are horrible but for authenticism i left it as it was in the end
but if children are watching: DON#T TRY THIS AT HOME...IT MIGHT HURT!!!
zachm, thanks, you're right the reflection looks off...its the reflectionplane above, which wasnt the best idea...second mistake was to correct the
redtones in postpro and didn't realized that it didn't work with the female
happens often that things don't work with the female, i hope the bridegroom doesn't have to realize it to early, hehe
