mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts29 Jul 2006you have prob seen this character in the sticky that shows trial in this section on the forum this is a small play around with the material editor i tried my best please bombard me with crit and comments feel free to even swear cause i know this is a noob lvl of animation and these crit are important for me to be able to advance like you people thanks alot

mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts29 Jul 2006hi again i have worked on ali's advice i hope this is close to what you were thinking so i adding some keying to the head fixed the right hand snap off and added a tiny bit of secondry motion (FLEX) it also my first time using it

Why doesn't it ever pick up its legs?
The arms really "feel" like they're animated via IK. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I think a lot of it is that the wrists stay in the same place while the arm and hand move around (that's just one example of what's not working).
The eye blinking is too slow and seems like it was done at random.
The antennae looks strange to me. Is that secondary motion hand keyframed, or was it done automatically? It looks a bit too stretchy too.
It's a good start... keep going!

can you pin point couple of good tutorials you used for animation that would help me alot thanks -

Cartoony material was good. But I like it more now.
One other note that his right hand unusually hasn't any move in Z axis. it makes the animaition looks rough. also bending and adding some movements to fingers may help. though I like the head, eyes, and flex animation.
