Lighthouse was modeled and rendered for "Finding Shore" competion over vizdepot.com.(you can check the old image on my website.)
but this image was rendered in max9 using mentalray 3.5. I also had changed few things like camera angels,lighting conditions etc. I hope you like the image. C&c r welcome.
PS: Sorry guys for not being here. I m trying to get back to this forum by posting this. i missed this forum a lot.

Claymation 600 posts14 Jan 2007Very nice! I love the lighting. The snow splotches on the roof are great.
A few small things:
- The branches on the trees are very regularly placed, mix them up some more. Break some, twist some, just more variation. Also maybe some snow on some branches as well.
- Some more variation in the snow would be cool. Maybe some rabbit tracks. Just something to make it not SO smooth. The texture of the snow in the foreground is nice.
- I can't tell if there's a texture on the roof or not. Theres some on the section with the 2 smaller windows facing to the right, but the top of the roof seems too smooth to me.
Overall it's very nice. It gives a great feeling. -
14 Jan 2007Really nice man, it feels like it could still use a bit of detail, shingles, a little grunge here and there, and you'd have an even more beautiful peice.

14 Jan 2007really love the lighting, the grass on the side of the place looks like its scaled too largely. also, maybe some weathered texturing on the side of the lighthouse would add to the mood of the scene.

i agree with most, could use some textures on the house and roof. Great work! -

i agree that roof could have some textures.and it has already i only needed to increase bumping amount little more.maybe when u use mentalray u should give more bumping.
