I came back again. These are pictures from some of the models that will be published in Holysoft model dvd. Models are not made by me. I have done the lighting and material. Materials are Vray and I have used standard lights. first tell me what you think about them. then I want to optimize the shaders and lighting parameters to get more realistic results, so I would be very happy if you tell me your opinions and solutions. please bombard me with your C&C!!

28 Jan 2007Good Idea to post it, ali. As I said I like some of the renderings, but the should be better. I think the lighting is too overbright in some parts. Also you did not send any closeshots
I really liked Richards Rendering. By the way people, if you want to render some models, you may have some for your private purpose and you also get some money

31 Jan 2007Ok Ali, they are coming along quiet good, BUT you should render also detail shots, also the cassette for example... its so much detail in it, you will not see it. Use one total shot and much more closer shots

David, as you see I put closed detailed shots and others in an image togather. If you agree these can be the finals. I will finish all of them soon. Quality can be improved still, but I think it's ok for now. though I have no much more time to work on it. I learnt much from these. and it sure will help me in next projects.

quinn paynter 356 posts05 Feb 2007Hey man, I dunno. I think alot of the material and vray lighting look lil fake. Like too shiny and plasticy. Your trying to make them as realistic as possible right? You should use live photos as referance. -

@ Ali: Details shots are coming along nice. But the disk looks like plastic. My hint: Use in the environment a hdri map, then use a grey looking reflection slot and it should come along much better! You have to go for photorealism here!

ALi 608 posts06 Feb 2007Till now I haven't used any HDRI because it's a studio scene and i thought using it will not be so good. however I'll try it.

13 Feb 2007Sorry for not replying I think its getting better, i looked at the disc and you have a wrong approach. It should be near photorealism. I changed some material settings, for example i put in a hdri in vray reflection slot (in the render panel) also changed some material settings and lighting.
Ask here some guys in the forum, Tyson, Cameron and even Richard are great in using Vray -
