10 Mar 2007That's very cool Rich! Very engaging reel - the editing to the music was great. Agree with Hype though, it is a very general reel, not that that is a bad thing but it may be an idea to focus on one thing. I guess it depends on what you are applying for.

10 Mar 2007Hey man, this is great so far. I really like the tempo and pacing specifically. It's just snappy enough to keep me interested.
A couple of things from my perspective. I think you have an excellent body of work here. However, I personally think that stills are more or less better served in a print portfolio rather than on a reel. And if you are going to have them on your reel, then perhaps arrange them so that they are in some sort of 2.5 after effects type of environment. Like as if they were floating in 3d space, and the camera flys up to each one for a moment. That would help break up the static images, that I feel really tend to drag a reel down. Other than that, I think everything that pops out has already been stated.
Once again, great work man. I haven't been on this forum for toooo long, but I've seen you make a ton of progress.

Iest - I boosted the volume, i think that's better now. I'll upload it later on
Sean - the pic in the mirror was for my creativity class, we had to make an autoportrait, I came up with this, cause the guy in the mirror always turns his back on me! As for the blue lights thing, there is some in that clip but obviously not enough, but looking at it now really shows me how dark the overall fridge anim is. thx for the tric though...

Global - "Very engaging reel"that's what i was aiming for, i have seen to many reels where you just wanna skip through. i tried showing stuff long enough to make the audience interested but not to long to make them not wanna see it anymore if you know what i mean
Zach - hey that's a brilliant idea, i'll probably do it in max though, as i am not confident with after effects yet. oh and that's all done in premiere btw.
i agree that this is a very general reel, but that's probably because i am not aiming for any job in particular. i didn't want to aim it to anything in particular. i will do the day it will be required.
