Just finished the first class over at
http://www.animationmentor.com
Our last assignment was to build all of our shots and poses into a reel to show to our next mentor, so I thought I'd share it with you guys. All of the assignments deal with teaching and using the principles of animation. So we start off easy with simple ball bounces working on timing, spacing, arcs, etc. then later got into using anticipation, overlapping, squash & stretch, etc. It's been fun and I'm proud to say I'm not a newbie anymore
If anyone has been on the fence trying to decide if this program is right for them or not I can only say it's been amazing so far.
My only issue so far has been that the mentors do not all teach the same or have the same opinions across the board. I suppose that is the same with any school but when you are getting a lecture from one guy then graded by another guy who doesn't agree with the things the first guy taught you, it can get a little tricky. But on the bright side, I have been getting 2-3 opinions and methods on how to do every single thing we've learned which helps in itself.
Anyway, Am rocks!
Here is my reel from Class 1: Basic Foundations
