The transition can be a little tricky - but you'll get used to it.
Quite a few things about this anim that'll need looking at Ridey. One of the first things that strike me is that you are clearly using IK. Now, whether you animate FK or IK the audience should never be able to tell. You could see it's IK because all of the movement looks like it's driven by the hand... it looks really linear, as in, if you trace out a path that the wrist takes it all goes in a straight line. Also the first thing that happens is an IK 'pop' as he reaches out for the paper shuffle. The pop happens when the IK reaches its fullest extension, so the elbow kinda slams into place... looks like the arms break.
Ok so that's the IK thing. Have a look at Timing and Spacing. Why does the guy's arm just suddenly snap out like that and grab the pen? Looks like some kind of pouncing cobra. Timing is how long it takes for you to go from one extreme to another, so the time it takes for the hand to grab that pen and bring it back. It looks a bit unnatural here.
Also, on the pen grab thing... why does his hand then go back to where the pen was before coming up to mop his brow? It really doesn't read very well. As in, the audience can't tell what's going on and why. A lot of that is achieved by strong posing. That hand coming back out there looks like a pose - like he was about to do something then changes his mind. Are they teaching you Pose to Pose animation there or just letting you run with it?
