31 Mar 2007I like it man! The second guys fall seems a bit unnatural though. I'd have to look at reference to be sure but it seems like he would either hesitate a bit more or fall the other direction. I don't know thats the trouble with animation haha. Looks cool though man.
Out of curiosity, where did you get that rig? It looks almost identical to one of our rigs from Animation Mentor. They got into a couple of battles with other schools/training sites that were copying their rigs.
I like how it has shoulders though, ours don't

01 Apr 2007Global - sorry man my roomie who helps me with web really hates IE so he doesnt really code for it... guess its lot more work but we are reworking my website hopfully in the future it will all work for you.
Jay - i agree the second guy does bother me just a bit but i cant tell exactly why. and the rig is mine something I but together myself but obviously i was replicating the rig AM has. I saw the newest show reel with the ipod commercial and wanted to see if i could replicate that. thanks for the crit too! -
01 Apr 2007Hey man...nice little clip! I hope you get the job!
Here are my comments:
-Everything about the beginning looks nice! However, when he jumps around the corner and points the gun, he shifts his weight really stiffly. You can especially see it when he leans into the one leg and then sorta stifly leans into the other one in a spring-like motion. I'd suggest aiming for a little more fluidity in his side-to-side movement
-Also, in that same shot, after he fires the gun he lifts and repositions his left leg. However, he does so without shifting his weight. Haha...give that a try...stand with your legs spread apart and then lift one of your feet---you'll fall on the ground for sure! Always remember that ANY time a character lifts his/her leg/foot, 99% of the time he/she will have to lean on to the other foot to compensate the balance.
-The falling-dead animation of the 2 guys could use a bit of work....Possibly add a little more overlap to their spines...I noticed the second guy was a bit stiff....
Great work for 1 night though!!!
