mechis 520 posts13 May 2007Woah. hahahahaha...... That just got put into my "Inspiration" folder.
Everything is impressive about this anim. What I thought was neat, was that the addition of a little DOF made the set look a LOT more realistic than in the straight render.
I was also amazed by the blood and guts coming from the mouse... who knew that there could be so much blood inside a such a tiny creature? hehe... It's also funny to watch in reverse

mechis 520 posts13 May 2007Can you talk a little bit about the compositing you did? I can see some color correction, DOF and you darkened the corners of the image. Anything I missed?
Also, how did you control the DOF? Did you have some kind of depth map to go along with your image?

-Yep there was some CC in AE. Contrast, a bit of hue adjustment, motion blur, DOF, and the black vignette that's around the edges (not sure if vignette is the right word, but you know what I mean
)
The DOF was done by exporting the animation as an rpf sequence, extracting the Z-Depth channel and applying the Lenscare Depth of Field plugin.
-The music was taken from freeplaymusic.com (a royalty free music site). Initially, the track didn't match up to the piece at all, but with some editing I think I made it fit -
