did u use any post work to remove grain?
-

i would say probably not, if you leave maxwell to do his work for long enough you get no grain.

No, I would Say MAxwell and Vray are Equally MAtched...
What We Need Is a model... And Then 1 Person Render It in Vray And THe Other In Maxwel

I just dont see anything in the above that warrants that kinda of render time nomatter how accurate the engine is, i bet any number of said renderers could knock it out in less time with the same quality.
Are all maxwell renders this slow?
-
luke 216 posts
the thing with maxwell is you choose the rendertime... it can take as long or as little as you want

Wow..What would a 1 hour render look like?
-
luke 216 posts
a 1 hour render in maxwell.. looks like a sheet of paper with paint spekled over it

Hey 9 hours render time ey lol that's ok just leave it on while you're asleep
The leather material I think needs a bit of work, first impressions tell me its leather, so you've done a good job at convincing people its leather
Maybe use a bump map instead of using u,v roughness (as this just slows your render time to a turtle race) - and you may find you get better results...who knows!

Maxwell 1.0 was released yesterday, a lot of work about the noise problem (so rendertime). We'll see what maxwell can do now in few days.

wow they really waited to the end before changing the release date. I took a look last week to the forum and nothing about changing date so I thought it will be at time.
