We had to make a video about india, And after 3 month, we went from the idea to final vid...

i was in charge of:
Idea, storyboard and layout
Modeling the room with the balls and all
Modeling the head and finished the body that my friend started.
And finally i did all the lighting/rendering and compositing
we needed to rush to be able to hand it in today, so there are a few things wrong with it, but at least it's finished

Claymation 600 posts22 May 2008Hey man, I think this looks great! Lighting and all is really nice. Two things that stick out to me:
- It looks kind of like a room in an asylum, white walls and no windows and all, but then there's a creaky old wooden door. It just doesn't seem to fit.
- I don't get it at all. -

Nice to see it done! I plugged it because I think the atmosphere and environment is really nice, and I generally like the character design. It's also great that you included the making of.
Here are my problems with it:
-I agree with Clay, in that I don't "get" the story. What significance does the bell have? Is he a slave, making soccer balls, and the bell is his "break"?
-The animation in shot one is nice, but really weak in the other shots. For example, when he looks at the bell and puts the ball down, he doesn't seem to have any finger animation. Also, the "Ball" looks completely different, and deflated.
-His run out the door is also really weak...there's no weight to it...his legs are popping all over the place and his gate is really strange.
I understand that you weren't in charge of the animation though...and that you were limited to a short time-frame.
A good effort nonetheless, and overall, a pleasing result

mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts22 May 2008i liked it a lot, ball inside the short problem, and i like the compositing work really nice, while hes going out the door it seems like there is no floor.
but great work, how long did it take you to finish this? -

Rich had some explenations about this video in the factory section. That there is no really big story about it. Because of its 15 second time limit.(i hope im not mistaken)
Exept for the ball model changing in 2 scenes and the walk/run animation everything is very fine.
goof:in the last scene the ball he stiches is not there at all

Claymation 600 posts23 May 2008I read that explanation, from what I gather he'd rather play with his old worn ball than the new ones? It's hard to tell there's a difference between the balls. Even if there was a noticeable difference, it still wouldn't read very clear what the actual point was.
Just because it's only 15 seconds long shouldn't be an excuse to have little story. The setting and environment is set up so that you're expecting some sort of story or something to happen, and then there's just no punchline. -

i totaly agree on all the comments said so far... only wish we could have been a little more organised for it, that way we could have came up with a more satisfying result (sorry if i splet that wrongly, my english is just getting worse everyday...)

there is some problems with the ball intersect with the boy's short ... and the animation as what others said, needs more work ...
I like how did you hide the old ball, so we can't see it till the last shot ... although I thought it would be better if he walk to a group of balls and stoop to pick aball, then we found the old ball in his hand ...
anyway you did well guys ... waiting to see what comes next
