at first i have to apollogize for my absence the last weeks...but in fact i was around every single day without posting, seeing all of the great work you guys did the last weeks...
heres is a pic i came up with a few days before christmas when thinking of the passing year...
since this is still a work in progress i would really appreciate your comments

02 Jan 2006everything is great apart from 3 things ... the little blue bag seems odd and the backgroud pic is not straight enough. also these metal boards on that wall, try making them as wood boards
thats my point of view.. i really like the dirt on the floor -

but what do you mean with "not straight enough"

03 Jan 2006Great render Troubs - Very nice details in there, texturing and lighting are great (and the dirt on the floor is cool!)
Not much to add to that... I'm not sure what Killer means about the background, difficult to tell about the pespective (I think that sign is just crooked, but that's ok) The only thing that bugs me is where the bground (exterior) meets the floor - there's a noticable line and sudden shift in the DOF. -

04 Jan 2006a wonderful rendering! Lighting and materials are great, only the metalwall is a little disturbing, it doesnt look like wood.

I agree about the bag, but I love the material so much
The background, I ditto globe's about the floor line, and I think it would work much better if the sign wasn't there.
I disagree about the panels on the wood from what mr killer said, I can see the opposite, the wood underneath is brown and the paint is a faded shade of blueish gray.
Top work mate, love the textures, the render, the lighting, the modelling... wonderfull! -

peter: yeah, the bag, shame on me...need to model more folds, its the next thing on the to do list...but i'm glad to make you glad this way
cam: will see what i can do about the sign, think your right...too much vertical lines in there....and thx for the plug again
david: hi, nice to see you around my friend and thx, since your not the only one who mentioned the wood, i think i'll have to work on that too,...maybe it's due to
low samples in rendersettings, since this is not the final render...
all samples are very low, the dov, the lightsamples and reflections...
the pic like it is now renders in under half an hour...

I really don't have any crits on this piece...anything that I'd be commenting on would be too subtle to notice anyways....great work on a well-deserved front-pager -

Remember though...these things are very insignificant...
-The knitted texture on the side of the carriage needs to be tiled more (or simply shrunk)...right now the texture is so "big" that it shouts "texturific" and doesn't look quite authentic
-I'd turn the specular (and/or bump) down on the wood panels on the wall to the right. Near the right side of the frame you're getting a glittery sort of look because the specular/bump are both too high
-The rust on the supports (ie...the metal frame between the tires and the carriage itself) is a little too uniform for my liking....I'd say concentrate more rust near the joints and less in the segments

the panels are definately wood, but with glossi refections where there's still some paint on them, as mentioned, glossi reflections with VERY low samples, will fix that
thank you tyson, i was already thinking about to paint a new mask for the rust to break through, will definately do that...and the other things you mentioned, too...thx again.
